About Xena

My name is Xena (Sheena) and I have over 3 years of experience in teaching through this platform. I loved teaching at a non-profit named Project Rousseau where I taught Spanish-speaking students to incorporate to the United States and learn the language. However, I believe that as beautiful as English is, it is also as important to be a well-rounded individual and get to know the other side of the world, that side that speaks Spanish and shares a lot of culture and a heartwarming legacy. I have traveled a lot and tourists always suggest that I should teach Spanish since I have been an interpreter between Spanish and English cultures while visiting Mexico. I have seen firsthand how learning this beautiful language can open doors to a whole new world and change the lives of people who feel like they have found a place they call home.

About the lesson

In order to learn this language you must envision and feel connected with it, that is why I will teach you what makes this language so heartwarming and welcoming. Spanish was my first language and it will always be my favorite because of how expressive it is! If you have a passion for learning Español, I will immerse you in its beauty and practice with regularity. My courses begin with basic grammar, mouth exercises, cultural immersion through videos, video calls, music and more. We will also go over important rules to annotate and progress through a lot of practice, the point of this class is for us to speak as much as possible and for you to become familiar with its uses. I have seen firsthand how this language benefits foreigners, especially when visiting another country and how much respect other nations can have for you once you learn to connect with this language. As a tutor I love engaging and talking about culture. I studied International Cultural Studies and this is my passion too! I have experience as a tutor in ESL for over 3 years and I am happy to be promoting my culture and learning about yours too
