About Selena
¡Hola! My name is Selena, and I grew up in a Spanish-speaking household with a Mexican mother and Salvadorian father. As a native Spanish speaker, I have lived the language and culture since childhood. I studied Spanish formally throughout high school and college, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, and also completed courses in Medical Spanish to train as a medical interpreter. Alongside my academic background, I am a bilingual Registered Nurse with over 11 years of experience using Spanish daily in healthcare settings. Students can feel confident learning with me because I combine cultural authenticity, academic training, and professional healthcare experience to create lessons that are supportive, practical, and effective.
