I was a high level student for most of my academic career. As I approached my Senior Year, I realized that I had learned all the content but I was always left wondering why that was essential to our learning. I think that knowing why and how and why you’re going to use it is important. As someone with an attention disorder I know how challenging it can be to grasp a lesson that should be making complete sense because you’re not sure why you need it or how it all fits together. I tackle the typical approach first then come at it from a different angle. I work with Middle Schoolers for the most part, so I am very versed in middle school learning but if you are just trying to go back to basics, I’m your person! Math all fits together like a puzzle and I will constantly be describing the lesson and what we are building off of. I use games and lessons meant to make the learning experience fun- because who doesn’t need a little fun?
