About Jasean
Over the last 9 years I have taught, Psychology, Sociology, Government, Economics, World Geography, College Readiness, Adult ESL, Educ 1300 (Intro to College), and GED Preparation for math and English. I loved everything I had the opportunity to teach. However, my absolute favorite has been Algebra & Geometry in GED Preparation. Those subjects have been a roadblock for many people and it brings me much joy to help people get pass those roadblocks. Helping people develop mathematical skills and personal confidence is the most rewarding thing I've done.

As a student I was very reluctant to learn things that were uninteresting or not obviously useful. My teaching style is designed specifically for people who have similar difficulties with giving their full effort to learning material they deem boring or pointless.
I break learning down into three steps for my private math lessons.
1. Learning the rules. This is the step in which students will learn new vocabulary and be able to verbalize different mathematical processes.
2. How to use the rules. In this step the student has the chance to apply the rules they have learned. Which will look like working problems, constructing problems for others to solve, and teaching someone else how to do what they have just learned.
3. Using the newly gained knowledge/rules with other rules. This step will be happening throughout step 2 as well but I like to emphasize on it because in real life we're never asked to simply "solve for X". We have to think critically about situations and use all of our prior knowledge to even know what we need to figure out.

Mr.Slusher is an amazing teacher.He will make sure you learn .He gives great notes and great advice on how to retain the formulas.He does no corner cutting.He keeps you engaged and i guarantee that when you are done you will have the knowledge needed to succeed. As a former student i wouldnt have wanted a different math teacher im much more confident than i was before i took his class.
