About Omar

As someone who comes from one of the worst state schools in Scotland, I understand that students normally aren't at fault for bad grades as this can be caused by bad resources, unsuitable teaching environment, etc. So I am passionate about helping others reach their full potential despite any barriers they may face. I have tutored previously during my time in high school, I have helped high school students apply to university and I have volunteered at a local coding club.

I have worked hard and mostly independently to get where I am which gives me a unique skillset that not many tutors have. Whilst some of my teachers were helpful, most were not which meant that I had to teach myself and often found myself teaching others

About the lesson

I believe that every student learns differently and one of the main issues with our education system is that they don't realise this. I will work to discover your best method of learning and make resources to compliment your learning type. As someone who did this throughout high school and continues to do so in University, I am confident in my ability to recreate notes in a way tailored to the student. I also recognise that pupils learn at different speeds which is why it is important for a tutor to have patience but also creativity to create more challenging problems for those that need it and I believe I have these.

My ultimate goal with all students is to help them to identify how they learn best as this will help them throughout education and beyond.
