About Wren
My interest in chess began at a young age when I became fascinated by strategy and problem-solving. Over time, this passion grew into serious study, eventually leading me to complete a PhD in Decision Sciences. During the last 5 years, I have taught students with a wide range of goals and experience levels.
I believe every player can improve through understanding, reflection, and consistent effort. My teaching approach combines structured learning with personalized guidance so students can develop according to their individual strengths. I enjoy helping learners discover new ideas and build confidence in their decision-making.
Outside lessons, I regularly study master games, analyze modern strategies, and follow international tournaments. These activities help me bring fresh insights into my teaching. Supporting students as they become stronger, more thoughtful chess players continues to be a deeply rewarding experience.

My chess lessons are designed to help students think more clearly, plan effectively, and make stronger decisions during games. We study tactical motifs, opening principles, positional concepts, endgame techniques, and calculation skills through structured instruction and guided practice. I focus on helping learners understand the logic behind strong moves rather than memorizing sequences.
As students advance, lessons include deeper game analysis, strategic planning, time management, and tournament preparation. We examine practical examples and review games together to identify strengths and areas for improvement. Every session encourages careful thinking and steady progress through meaningful practice.
I want students to enjoy the learning process while becoming stronger and more confident players. Chess develops patience, discipline, and analytical thinking that can be useful beyond the board. My goal is to help learners build lasting skills while gaining greater enjoyment from the game.
