About Alishariati

I am a Unisa graduate who has done extensive self-study over the past four years without attending any classes. I worked entirely from study material and communicated with lecturers online. I obtained 21 distinctions on my degree. I am the owner and operator of a tutoring service provider called 'Tutored By Me.' My mission is to provide accessible and affordable tutoring services to low- and middle-income households. Over the past five years, I have provided tutoring services to primary and high school students both online and in person, in both individual and group settings in a variety of subjects, including math, English, natural science, geography, and life science. I have helped students prepare for tests and exams, as well as assisted them with homework. I have also led phonics classes to help students improve their reading, writing, and sentence construction skills. I volunteer with a substance abuse prevention program called KE MOJA, which is part of the South African National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (SANCA). As a coordinator for the program, I supervise 12 coaches who help educate and support individuals struggling with substance abuse." I am passionate about working with people and helping them build confidence and self-esteem. I am a patient, empathetic listener, and I excel at clear and effective communication.

About the lesson

At the beginning of each lesson, I ask a series of questions to get to know my students personally and understand their academic needs. I then administer a pop quiz to assess their learning style and determine how to best support them. This allows me to tailor my approach to each student's unique needs and ensure that they get the most out of my lessons. In addition to my tutoring services, I offer career assessment sessions for students. I am trained to help students identify their strengths, interests, and personality traits, and use this information to guide them towards a career path that is a good fit for them. These assessments are available at an additional cost.
