About Serina

Honors Degree in Health Studies from York University, and now a Nursing Student. Strong academics in math, reading/writing and life sciences. Experience tutoring/teaching children individually and in small groups. Flexible with student schedules/availability, engaging material, patient, super friendly and always willing to help!

About the lesson

My teaching methods are visual and hands on. I encourage students to engage and understand material with visual aids and to make personal connections with academic material in order to comprehend and take away key points.

*All students will be taught a brief lesson, followed by an activity to check their understanding, and homework that is due on their next session.*

As a tutor I believe “practice makes perfect”, so by either working with a student individually or as a group, I will make sure each student has had enough practice within their subject to ensure mastery and full comprehension of all subject components. If they are still having difficulty, I will continue to work with them as needed to make sure they are comfortable before moving on with other material.
