About Laure
There is something liberating about the study of a foreign language, because it gives you access, crucially without filter, to entire new sections of world culture. In my case, films, music, literature, all these artistic productions on which language weighs heavily, have been the main driver in academic pursuit of English. As soon as we put words on what motivates us to study, then we understand how we need to go about it, and I wish I could put this lesson to good use in helping others.

Whether you're simply looking to be able to hold a conversation on your next trip abroad, or you're preparing for a dauting exam, I think it important that we establish together what your needs and goals are. As a general rule, I think it important to use reading and writing to fuel conversation, using think-pieces to encourage the student to demonstrate comprehension of language, and then work around that that build a capacity for expression of personal ideas and sustained arguments in English. I aim to lead the students to not merely be descriptive, but critical, capable of truly getting across to another English speaker.
