About Lourdes

I'm a young adult with a diverse background. I love learning and experiencing new things. I come from a small fishing village with very little job opportunities, with a small population. My primary school teachers inspired me to become a teacher and my love for children, mathematics, and natural science & technology. I believe all learners have the ability to achieve greater things in life. Failure does not mean the end but a beginning to learn from our mistakes. It's better to try than not to try at all. For every problem, we will find a solution. In 2023 I attended my grade four practical at the primary school in my town. It's very small with less than 20 learners in a classroom; only grade five & six were in one classroom. In 2025 I attended grade 5 practical at the primary school I attended. It's a big school with more than 3 classes per grade and more than 35 learners per classroom. The school has cameras at every corner outside the classrooms and only in certain classrooms. It's a diverse school with learners from diverse cultures, religions, and languages. The medium of the school is Afrikaans and English as a second language. There's only one English-instructed classroom per grade. I'm enrolled/registered at a private college called MY SANTS (from 2023 until 2026).

About the lesson

Learner-centred approach. Will use different learning styles that suites a learner. Will always have a small test or activity to do. Grade 4-7 (Ages between 9-13). My home language is Afrikaans and my second language English, can teach in both languages.
CURRICULUM ALIGNMENT: CAPS aligned.

NATURAL SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY: YEAR 2, 3 and 4.
Term 1: Life and living.
Term 2: Matter and materials.
Term 3: Energy and change.
Term 4: Energy and change. Planet earth and beyond.

Lesson Duration & Structure: We follow the Department of Education's ATP (Annual Teaching Plan) to ensure each lesson is aligned with the curriculum and optimally timed. The ATP measures the duration of lessons, ensuring that we cover all key topics within the required time frame. This structured approach helps increase the pass rate and ensures thorough preparation for exams
