About Vera

I am a Bachelor Student at the Royal College of Music in London, studying viola. Before my studies here I graduated the Junior Department at Guildhall School of Music and Drama and was also part of Aldeburgh Young Musicians. I am passionate about making music open to everybody. I love teaching, and enjoy working with children, coming from a family with younger siblings. I have participated in many outreach projects with children. I make sure my lessons are fun and engaging and suited to each student's needs. I like to give students a say in what they want to learn, because learning is much more enjoyable when we are doing something we love. I particularly love playing in chamber groups and enjoy romantic and contemporary music which is well suited to viola repertoire. I have A* qualifications in A Level Music and A Level English.

About the lesson

As a viola teacher, I have worked introducing children to the viola in Brunswick Nursery, Cambridge and have given private lessons. I tailor my lessons to each student's individual needs and ability, and always keep in mind the mental well-being of students because we learn better when we are enjoying what we do. I always approach teaching with kindness and an open mind to different learning styles. Qualifications include Grade 8 distinction level viola, Grade 8 distinction level violin and Edexcel A Level Music with an A* grade, alongside an A* in English A Level and A in Fine Art. I also play piano so can accompany students as needed. I am open to teaching at any standard. Lessons typically an hour but can arrange privately.
