About Elyse
Hi I'm Elyse! I’m a statistics student at the University of Calgary who genuinely enjoys helping kids feel more confident and capable in their schoolwork. I take the time to understand how each student learns, what they struggle with, and what motivates them. My style is patient, calm, and encouraging. I want my students to feel supported, not stressed. I break things down clearly, celebrate both small and big wins, and help them build the skills they need to stay organized and succeed on their own. Families can count on me to show up prepared, reliable, and committed to helping their child feel proud of their progress.

I keep my tutoring style clear, calm, and structured, breaking concepts into simple steps and using examples and guided practice so students actually understand the material.
A typical session starts with a quick check-in, a short review, and then step-by-step work on new topics, followed by practice and a quick recap. I also tailor each session to the student’s needs and struggles, focusing on the exact areas where they get stuck and adjusting the pace so they never feel lost.
I tutor grades 7–12 in math to improve study habits, provide homework help, and exam prep, with the goal of building confidence.
