About Vivi
Being a student myself, I know and am still discovering the struggles of learning something new so I am very excited about passing on my experience. I love talking to new people, especially when I can find a new perspective or problem which I can apply my own knowledge and skills to solve. Going into A levels, I couldn't do Chemistry anymore so I found a new way to impart my knowledge of Chemistry to younger students. Consequently, I really felt the joy my mentee had when she understood the topic. My previous mentees would say I am patient, structured but can be a little too talkative when I'm invested in a topic. Other than my studies, I'm a creative person; I love art - I do paintings myself - and piano!

I usually let the student approach the problem first, find solutions themselves and I encourage them to tell me if they draw a blank. I will break the problems into smaller steps, guiding them through targeted questioning so they know the reasons behind the answer. I highly prioritise making the student feel safe and secure, whilst challenging themselves. I mentored a Year 8 student in French, which boosted her confidence and got her the grade she wanted. I also delivered one-on-one tutoring sessions for an IGCSE student in Chemistry, enhancing her performance from a failing grade to a B in her final exam. I can tutor students from Year 8 to Year 13 (12) for IGCSE and A level.
