About Chris
My name is Chris, and I am a responsible and dedicated high school student who enjoys helping others understand math. I am patient, approachable, and committed to creating a comfortable learning environment where students can ask questions without feeling embarrassed or pressured. I understand that every student learns differently, so I take the time to explain concepts clearly and adjust my approach when something is not making sense.
I offer tutoring for students in grades K–8 and Algebra 1, including homework help, test preparation, practice problems, and support with topics they may be struggling to understand. As a student myself, I understand how frustrating difficult schoolwork can be, and I aim to make learning feel less stressful and more manageable.
I take each lesson seriously and come prepared to help students build both their math skills and confidence. My goal is not just to help students get the right answer, but to help them understand how to solve problems on their own. I was once in that same student's shoes, so I know how it feels to not understand something.

As a high school student, I understand that math can sometimes feel confusing or overwhelming, especially when a topic is explained in a way that doesn’t make sense to you. My goal is to make each lesson simple, comfortable, and easy to understand. I teach by breaking problems into smaller steps, explaining the reasoning behind each step, and using examples that match the student’s level.
A typical lesson starts by reviewing what the student already knows and identifying the areas they are struggling with. Then, we work through examples together before I let the student try similar problems independently. I also encourage students to ask questions and make mistakes because that is an important part of learning.
What sets me apart is that I am a student too, so I understand what it feels like to learn difficult material and need someone to explain it differently. I am patient, approachable, and willing to explain a problem multiple ways until it makes sense.
My lessons are designed for students in K–8th grade who need help with math, as well as Algebra 1 students who want extra practice, homework support, or help understanding specific topics.
