About Ava
As a violin tutor with more than 3 years of experience, I focus on building both skill and musical identity. I hold an Associate of Music in String Performance (Violin), providing a strong technical base. My passion is rooted in Nordic fiddle traditions and Klezmer music.
I teach Norwegian and Swedish fiddle styles that highlight ornamentation and rhythm. I also guide students through Klezmer’s expressive melodic lines. Ornamentation is practised carefully and consistently. Rhythmic bowing patterns are developed to support authentic dance feel.
Ear-based learning is a key part of my method. Students build memory and listening skills before reading notation. Folk jam tracks encourage steady tempo and ensemble awareness. Drone tuners refine pitch and tonal centre. Repertoire-based lessons ensure practical growth.
I aim to make every lesson culturally rich and inspiring. You are warmly invited to learn the violin through deep traditions and vibrant sound.

My teaching approach emphasises reading accuracy and musical understanding. Strong readers become flexible performers. That is my goal for every student.
We train the eyes and fingers to respond together without hesitation. Ledger lines, higher positions, and shifting are practised regularly. Complex rhythms are counted clearly before adding the bow. Multi-part scores help students understand texture and harmony. Each step builds towards fluent reading.
Musical theatre students learn to handle quick changes in music. Worship musicians gain confidence reading harmonies in group settings. Structured drills strengthen speed and focus. Results are consistent.
You will approach new sheet music calmly and confidently. Playing at first sight will become a strength.
