About Clara

Hi!
I am Clara, a 21-year-old language-nerd from Gothenburg, Sweden.

I have always had a passion for my mother tongue and teaching, so I thought why not combine the two and gain some experience in tutoring!
My hope is to be able to provide fun and entertaining sessions that will give you valuable insights into the Scandinavian language, and I will do my very best to provide as much assistance as possible for you to gain proficiency in speaking/pronunciation, listening and reading comprehension, writing (spelling, grammar etc.). Any requests are more than welcome.
Hopefully, I can also add some fun facts here and there and share some common expressions, idioms and tips and tricks on how to sound more like a native speaker!

This is my first time tutoring so I am open to any criticism, feedback and requests. My aim is simply to utilise my skills to benefit you who are interested in the language, and to assist you in reaching YOUR goals by sharing my knowledge in a way that suits you.

About the lesson

I will start with an introductory "briefing" to determine on what level you would like to start, your personal goal/purpose and what you are mainly looking to get out of this course (e.g. proficiency in spoken Swedish, everyday conversation, formal Swedish, writing, grammar, spelling, or all of it!) and then construct a study plan accordingly, in order to meet your specific aims.

If you are a complete beginner, I would be more than happy to introduce you to this lovely language!
If you already know some Swedish but would like to gain more understanding of the language and its structure from a linguistic viewpoint, do not hesitate to contact me about what you would like to improve on.

Lesson structure: 1 hour of Skype (video call) or meeting in real life. I will have prepared content that we will have discussed from a previous session, and then go through it together. Laptop/tablet with internet connection is optional but could come in handy. Notebooks/pencil I strongly suggest!
