About Santhosh

Learned basic Tabla at young age from Bharateeya Vidya Bhavan . Taken advance training in Tabla from very senior Tabla exponents. Acquired Vidwath degree in Hindustani – Tabla in the 2002 examination conducted by Karnataka University, with Honours. Performed in Different TV channels, has been accompanying Various artists in Vocal, Sitar ,Flute, Violin etc. Can impart systematic training in Basic tabla for beginners & also teach advanced Tabla for intermediate & advanced students.

About the lesson

For individual classes, the classes will be tailor made as per the strengths & weaknesses of individual students. For beginners, the focus will be more on tonal quality of each syllables as it is important to maintain sweetness in Tabla playing as student progresses to higher level. For intermediate students, it is important to look at the finger techniques & any flaws to be corrected. Finger Techniques are important aspects of Tabla playing & any wrong techniques can affect efficiency of tabla playing. For advanced students, emphasis would be on traditional advanced compositions. Solo pattern will be taught covering Peshkar,Kaida, Rela, Tukda, Mukda, Gats , Pharans , Chakradars, luggis etc. Different Taals Teental, Jap Taal, Ek Tal, roopak Tal, Pancham Sawari ,dadra, kehrva & many other taals are part of teaching imparted . Also different aspects of Tabla will be covered, including accompaniment .
