About Adrienne

I choose to teach because creative minds are naturally visual and non-linear, which often makes the rigid structure of academic writing feel like an unnecessary barrier. When an art or design student struggles with a dissertation or essay, it is rarely a reflection of their intellect; it is simply a mismatch in how the information is formatted.

My goal is to make contextual studies accessible and practical. By combining my own experience of achieving top marks with specialist training in additional learning needs (ALN), I want to provide students with the clear structural tools they need to overcome academic anxiety and confidently unlock the high grades they are capable of.

About the lesson

My Qualifications & Experience:

I am Adrienne, a trained researcher, designer and academic mentor with a proven track record of securing top marks across theory and practice pathways.

I hold a Distinction in Foundation Art and Design, an MRes (Master of Research) in Art and Design, and graduated with a High First-Class BA Honours scoring 90%.

I have designed and delivered university lectures for HE students, run professional development sessions for teachers and facilitated collaborative learning programmes for diverse community groups within university settings.

My higher education teaching delivery and collaborative learning initiatives have been recognised with a nomination for a prestigious CATE Award for UK Higher Education excellence.

Crucially, I am a professionally trained learning support specialist with years of experience adapting heavy academic demands for neurodivergent, disabled learners and diverse cognitive processing styles.

I know exactly what academic examiners look for and I have the professional pedagogy required to assist you execute it.

Who can benefit from our sessions:

These sessions are designed for school and university-level students navigating the theoretical, written components of creative degrees. Whether you are approaching your first essay, fighting your way through a mandatory contextual studies module, writing an art history essay or tackling a major undergraduate or postgraduate dissertation, I adapt my coaching to match your specific learning profile and strict assessment criteria.
