About Jasmine

My name's Jasmine, I am currently in my dream university York, pursuing psychology at a higher level, after I got As and A*s in exams. I have a passion to teach and help others, as I wasn’t a naturally smart student I massively struggled at first knowing how to revise, and understanding the content whilst also balancing my personal life. My interest isn’t in the money it’s in helping others achieve the best grades possible which I’m sure will happen with my help. I have a huge passion for supporting others so my goal for the future is to help people in some form of way either as a teacher or as a psychologist. This means I’m highly invested in others and their education.

About the lesson

I create an in-depth timetable for each student personalised to their own lifestyle, this will include when they will study independently and with me prioritising their weaknesses, I use a recall revise review method, I find the length of an effective lesson is between 1-2 hours, in recall we spend 15-20 minutes recalling information from the previous lesson typically by giving a few questions to test their knowledge and any gaps, any areas they’re unsure on we spend a bit more time on in this section. The revise section is the main chunk of the lesson this is when I use a summarised PowerPoint of all the information of a specific topic, I will also give tips on the best way to note the information down after each slide a couple of questions is given to test their understanding and enhances active recall which is the best method to help them retain information, we then spend the last 15-20 minutes reviewing the lesson such as how well they’ve understood it, how confident they are and what they can do in their own time that I can then check the following lesson. I have been tutoring for the last couple of months helping students go from Cs to A*s, this is for anyone who is in college year 12/13 my study methods are how I was able to get A*s.
