About Oki

I work as a Indonesian Language Training Specialist for foreigner. It is my routinity from Monday to Saturday. I usually have one or two courses that consist of one or two students in it. Being a teacher is not only my routinity. I am also a student in the College of Foreign Language, Indonesia America Institution, we called "College of Foreign Languages, Indonesian American Institute - STBA LIA." I will graduate as a bachelor degree on November, 2015. But before it started, I have stumbled many times. I like not to know where to go, but I keep searching. However, I want to tell three stories before I get here. When I was 11 years old, I was dreaming about a real football player that I wanted to be in the future. I am good at sports but what I really want is to become a real football player at that time. It was in late afternoon, I always played football with my friends after I took a nap. In my neighborhood there was a field that I could play and practice with my friends. My team was always doing a championship. It was not an international championship or even national championship. It is conducted by surrounding residents, but my team is always won, and I was the one who everybody was counting on me. When I was 17 years old if I wasn't mistaken, I was thinking that I wanted to join a football club to become a professional eventually, so I was searching for a club that I wanted to join and step forward in it. I found School of Indonesian Arsenal Football, we called SSI-Arsenal (Indonesian-Arsenal Football School). Unfortunately, the club is too expensive to enter, and I was too scare to tell my parents that I really want to join that club. I do not even have much money until then I used to know. So I registered a club with money in my hands, and one of officers said, "If you are good, a coach will pick you up." I remember that coach is foreigner, and I don't much about English, but I continue learning it by myself at that time. But it was not last long because I had to pay a school fee every month, and I was unable to always borrow money. I am afraid that I cannot get money back. After that I quited for a few months, and I started again to search another footbal club, and I found it. I was happy because there was no fee for a month in that football club. I knew that it wasn't progressing, and I was getting older. Nonetheless, I did not underestimate it. I learned something.

About the lesson

To communicate, new ideas are hard to convince people because different people think in different ways. Some people sometimes underestimate the idea before we explain it. This time we have to pursue many times, and we have to convince them to endeavor. We can learn from what people criticize about the idea. It makes our idea can be developed. However, I have two opinions about this unanswered question. The first thing I do is to tell my closest friend that you can trust about the idea. It will take a long time to figure it out who is the right man who can be invited to work together. I have to provide you with all the necessary information to comprehend new solutions. We surely do not want to think about the middle of what we are trying to prove, and we need to do analysis before we move move. I will explain it from the beginning until the end. I will tell them the truth that this is just an idea. We don't know what the results can be big impact for others. We can find more allies as we have the right person to support the idea. We also have to believe that we can be ourselves as innovative leaders. We have to be strategic. I believe that I have a great way to make a big contribution, so I don't have to be scared to prepare everything and to schedule people to do a meeting in right time and place. The meeting is about the new breakthrough of the idea that will interest people. Meetings are a great place for group thinkers to express themselves. When I explain a new idea in a meeting, I try to balance between the text and visual. A presentation slide with an important message is complemented by an image representing the idea. Some will remember what they have read, others will remember what they have seen. We can also use more than imagery to convince and understand the audience understand what I am trying to point out.
