About Evelyn

During my highschool years at Pickerington North high school, I performed in the OMEA solo n ensemble competition. In my sophomore year, I performed in class B (there is classes A B C D, with A being the highest class, C being the lowest class, and D being not part of any class) I got a 1 as my rating from the judges that year. (1 is the highest score and 3 is the lowest score) in my sophomore year I also performed at solo n ensemble with an ensemble of 3 other flutes and I was the first chair/principal flutist, and we got a 1 rating. In my Junior and Senior year of highschool I performed in solo n ensemble again, moving up to Class A, and I got a 1 rating in both years. With all of this said, I have made a lot of improvements in my highschool years, but now that I have been learning with Dr Sanchez at BGSU for the past year, I have learned so much more and improved myself more than I could ever think was possible. Just like Dr Sanchez, I am an advocate for mental well being in the music world. I understand that there are many hard days and many Awesome days in the music world as musicians. I am ready to help your young student get through this process of learning their instrument, so that they can reach their full potential.
My Sophomore solo: Pan Pastorale, Joannes Donjon
My junior solo: Sonata “Undine”, Op 167. I. Allegro, Carl Reinecke
My senior recital: Concerto in G major for flute and piano III. Rondo: Tempo di Menuetto, Mozart
My current Solo: Faure Fantasie Op. 79, Gabriel Faure

About the lesson

In my lessons with students, my main goal is to help young musicians know they are in control of their learning and not alone in their struggles. I will have lots of resources for my students to help and guide them through any problems they have. Another goal of mine is to make practicing fun, motivating, and engaging. These lessons will be for beginner/lower intermediate flute players to help build a solid foundation to grow from. These lessons are for 6th-8th grade mostly, but I am happy to help students up to the 10th grade.
