About Cloel

I am a person who has been passionate about learning my whole life. My mother was a teacher, and I would spend hours after school in the library learning as much as I could about as many different things as I can, and this is still true. You will almost always find me watching to a YouTube video or listening to a podcast on a subject I'm interested in while I engage in other projects or chores.

I love music and can play several instruments, and sing as well as produce. I'm fascinated with physics, psychology, astronomy, and dabble in most subjects. I'm not keen on math but I am good at it. I'm a gamer. I don't like formality, and generally like to conduct myself in a friendly and personal manner.

About the lesson

My techniques are constantly evolving to meet the needs of my students. Our first lesson will be an informal introduction, and a general explanation about the core focuses of my methodology.

After this, most of the time, our lessons will just feel like a conversation between friends, but that's part of my system. It's an excellent, low-pressure opportunity to practice with gentle corrections, and I'm constantly assessing your habits and strengths to see where improvement is most needed and how best to accomplish this for you.

Most of the learning exercises will actually take place outside of the lesson as I guide you in the development of habits that will make the process as easy as possible, and this is a good thing - my time is expensive and I only have so much to give, so forming learning habits outside of the classroom will yield much better long term results at a better monetary value that trying to cram as much new information into an hour long lesson every week. Think of it like swimming: the more time you spend in the pool, the faster you will develop your skills. I'm just here to lead you to the best ways to practice and grow.

I only accept students level B.2 and above, and the reason for this is simple. Any student below level B.2 would be better off spending their time and money using a service like duolingo (or even free online exercises, google them, there are thousands) to get themselves to at least B.2. It simple isn't worth it to hire a tutor to learn the absolute basics of a language. My advice to any student below this level is to spend some time developing their vocabulary and getting their ear accustomed to listening to English by watching lots of Youtube, then Netflix, and listening to music. YouTube can often be easier, since there tends to be less sound effects to distract your ear, and the voices tend to be more prominent.
