About Mimi

Hello there! I am a Political Science alum, who started off in Accounting, and is now on her way to becoming a Paralegal and then off to Teacher's College. I know what a whirlwind, the thing is I love learning. I love trying new things and picking up ways to teach my students throughout the years. The best part is learning from my students while they learn from me. I have been tutoring since high school, throughout my University years I joined an organization to peer mentor students about Conflict Resolution and Problem Solving. I have also tutored students in the inner cities as well as advocating for their local communities. I have taught a Grade 5/6 class for a summer with the READII program by A.N.C.H.O.R. (African Canadian Coalition Against Hate, Oppression, and Racism) and it was amazing how each student progressed, and how other students came to me for help and support. Learning isn't just about teaching, it is the willingness to change and grow from where you are to whom you are willing to become. Right now I am working with a Non-profit who has worked within the high school and middle school years to provide programming that empowers Black youth.
