About Kirsten

Hello, my name is Kirsten. I am a third year medical student at the University of Sheffield. In my free time I enjoy reading, watching documentaries and playing with my dog. I have experience volunteering as a tutor and enjoy the rewarding nature of teaching. I would love the opportunity to tutor to help increase your understanding and help you gain confidence.

About the lesson

I believe that everyone learns best in their own ways and my lessons will aim to target this. Whether this is lots of practice questions or PowerPoint slides helping to break down problems or get ahead of the class by learning content in advance. I am always open to feedback and will regularly ask that the lessons are suiting the individual.

Typically my lessons will last an hour but will be content dependent so can be planned in advance to last longer or shorter as applicable.

As mentioned I am a third year medical student so have experience trying many techniques in order to study for exams as well as showing commitment and dedication to a sometimes challenging (but rewarding!) degree. In addition, at A Level I achieved 3 A grades in Biology, Chemistry and Maths as well as an A* in my Extended Project Qualification. I completed 10 GCSEs with 8 of those at a grade 9 standard and the other 2 at a grade 8. I have experience tutoring during my time as an academic prefect at school as well as having a younger sibling who often can challenge me with any questions they have!

My lessons will be for anyone interested! I can teach up to the level of AS in Biology, Chemistry and Maths. This can include the 11+ exam, Years 6-9 as well as Years 10, 11 and 12. I can also help with elements of A level content as well upon request. I am also able to teach up to GCSE physics and will be able to offer advice for Medical school applications.
