About Nihar

Hi, my name is Nihar and I'm a 3rd year medical student at the University of Cambridge, and I'm currently intercalating in pharmacology. I studied Maths, Further Maths, Biology and Chemistry at A-level (A*A*A*A*). I also received offers from UCL, Bristol and Swansea universities.

As a former state school student, I understand that sometimes students may not always get the help they need due to time/staff constraints within schools, and so I have a good knowledge of which areas in subjects students tend to struggle with. This will allow me to effectively target gaps in students' knowledge to efficiently prepare them for their GCSE exams.

About the lesson

My lessons are between 45 minutes to an hour long and will entirely depend on the student’s year and needs, and lessons will be conducted online. The format will largely be teaching with some time for any feedback or clarifications, and regular tests to assess progress and any points of difficulty.

For content learning in preparation for GCSE exams, I can help with
- understanding the relevant curriculum based on exam board and level
- teaching students tips, tricks and formulas for excellent exam results
- working through exam exercises to gain confidence and speed
- personalised feedback from regular progress testing in line with content learning

My lesson style is completely student-centred: I like to get an overview of the student's preferred learning methods and their strengths and weaknesses in their subject. This allows me to create a personalised teaching plan to most effectively prepare students for their exams.
