About Emily
I have always had a great love for the humanities (English and Religious Studies in particular), and went above and beyond to achieve the best grades in said subjects at school gaining A*, A*, A at A-Level. I am on track to gain a first class degree at university, which I hope shows my dedication to education.
I love to teach because I believe the worst thing a student can come across is a teacher who doesn’t really care about them or the subject; flourishing is all about having a strong bond and passion for your work.
Most of all, though, I love to help people. Academically, I have been a teaching assistant, ensuring that failing students gained the top grades in their 2019 exams, and even a maths tutor, and have seen how rewarding it can be to help.
Through my role as a peer mentor and mental health first aider, I also understand and empathise with how difficult learning can be as well as the pressures of school and personal changes.
Overall, I wish to be someone who can be a friendly yet motivated tutor, one that can help you no matter the circumstances! :)

I believe that in order to be successful at a subject, you have to really feel passionate about it. This is why my method of teaching relies on not only preparing you for any upcoming assignments or exams, but also helping you to truly connect and grow to love your subject matter. In practice, this would mean identifying individual challenges and spending time on these, while also making the reading material accessible and enjoyable.
My commitment to being a friendly face and a cheerleader to all students will hopefully boost your confidence, as that is really the most important aspect of tutoring!
My experience in mentoring speaks for itself, for example helping a struggling GSCE Religious Studies pupil achieve an 8 (A*) their 2019 exams. I am willing to really pick apart your learning and subject content in my own time, and cooperate with you to get the best grades possible.
