About Jasmin

When I look back at my school years, I remember some of the most cherished times of my life. Time spent forging meaningful relationships, learning about the things I loved and starting to understand who I was. More than anything, I had teachers that made the future seem so bright and beautiful. I had teachers that made me feel that the sky was my limit. Over the years, it became clear to me this was how I wanted to make my mark in the world, and it became my desire to be that person who helps children and young people realise that anything is possible. My ongoing drive is to support children in a school capacity and provide them with the education and support they deserve, the support I am so incredibly grateful to have had myself. I am a huge advocate for equal opportunity and believe every child deserves a fulfilling education as I believe learning and education should not be a seen as a luxury but as a fundamental right for all. I would like to enable as many children as I can to achieve incredible things and help pave the way for our next world leaders, scientists, doctors and so much more, Within the past few months, I have been supporting parents who are having to teach English to their children from home due to the pandemic, I do this on a voluntary basis and assist the parents with lesson plans, delivering lessons, extracurricular work and finding resources online. This has been fundamental in my journey into the educational sector as I have had to overcome the barriers of online teaching and maintaining a personable and enriching lesson for pupils. I aim to continue doing this until restrictions are lifted, after this point I will continue to offer additional support out of school hours and over weekends.
As an individual I am an outgoing person and I feel I thrive in social settings. I do not shy away and am confident speaking to large groups, in the past I have been involved in theatre and spoken word poetry. I feel that confidence is key in teaching and I am not afraid to role my sleeves up and get involved as I know from first-hand experience the difference it can make to have someone to support you in a way that is personalised to you. I would love to be considered I believe that alongside my passion for children’s wellbeing and appreciation for the educational sector it will enable me to build the fundamentals for a beautiful future as a teacher.

I believe that one of the most fundamental part of going into teaching is having the drive and desire to improve children’s lives. It is crucial that children’s wellbeing is at the forefront of what you do. I am confident in my abilities to teach, especially with an emphasis on English. I have a BA(Hons) in English Literature and Creative Writing which I believe has amplified the desired skill sets for teaching. Aside from this, I am in the process of studying my TQUK Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, TQUK Level 2 in Bullying and Harassment and TQUK Level 2 in Autism which will enable me to work as a Teaching Assistant to obtain vital experience for my teaching career, I will have completed these by October 2021. I have also recently completed by TQUK Level 2 in Understanding Mental Health in Children and Young People. In my last role in the care sector, I introduced more face-to-face learning and increased in person support for trainees to replace less effective e-learning modules. The outcome of this was an increased level of interaction from staff and more willingness to take on additional training to enhance their role. This enabled me to support staff onto their NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care. I have completed training in Equality and Diversity, Person-Centred Care, GDPR, Safeguarding Children and Adults and many more during my time at the care company.
