About Avery
Since every player is unique, I adjust the focus based on your current level. Maybe you are struggling with a specific chord progression. We look at electric technique and music theory to build your confidence.
Strumming patterns become natural through repetition. Blues progressions offer a path to better soloing.
Acoustic technique requires a different touch. Improvisation happens when you stop thinking and start listening. I always keep the rhythm steady.
My goal is to make sure you have fun. See you soon in the studio.

Playing bolero and flamenco guitar is how I started my life in music. You might assume technical proficiency is the only goal, but it is really about the feel of the strings under your fingers. My Diploma of Music from JMC Academy provides the foundation for every concept I share.
I have worked with 400 plus students over the years. This audience includes kids, intermediate learners, and self taught players wanting structure.
My teaching is rooted in traditions I grew up with. I bring 13 years of experience to these sessions. That background informs how I explain complex ideas simply.
You will find that my approach remains very friendly and patient. I want to keep the process light.
