About Hema Sri

Hi, I’m Hema Karri, a passionate pianist and Trinity-certified Grade 8 musician in both Practical and Theory. I’ve performed in concerts and have guided many students through their own musical journeys, most of whom have achieved Distinctions in their Trinity exams.
As a teacher, I focus on helping students truly understand the language of Western Classical music — not just memorize notes.

My approach is structured, patient, and tailored to each learner’s pace and goals. Whether you’re a complete beginner or preparing for higher-grade Trinity exams, I’ll help you build strong fundamentals, clear technique, and the confidence to perform with expression. I believe learning piano should be both disciplined and enjoyable — and I make sure every class leaves you feeling motivated, confident, and one step closer to mastering your instrument.

About the lesson

My classes are focused on building a strong foundation in Western Classical piano, tailored for those preparing for Trinity College London exams, from beginners taking their first steps to advanced players perfecting their technique.

Each class (1 hour) is structured, clear, and goal-oriented balancing hands-on playing with solid theory understanding. Students will not only learn pieces but also understand them, developing sight-reading accuracy, hand coordination, and expressive control.

What to Expect:
- Trinity Exam-Focused Training: Guidance in both Practical and Theory components — with detailed preparation for every grade.

- Sight-Reading Made Simple: Step-by-step approach to reading and interpreting music fluently.

- Technique & Exercises: Strengthening finger agility, dynamics, and phrasing for confident performance.

- Music Theory Mastery: Clear and engaging explanations that help you understand what you play — not just memorize it.

My approach is patient yet disciplined — I believe every student, regardless of age or level, can learn to play beautifully when guided with structure, clarity, and encouragement. Whether you’re aiming for certification or want to deepen your musical knowledge, I’ll help you reach that next level with confidence.
