About Dané

ABOUT DANÉ - Dané is a summa cum laude graduate from the Russian State University of Kosygin in the Russian method of ballet aka the Vaganova method. She is passionate about teaching and holds 8 years of teaching experience. Over the last several years of studying ballet in Moscow she continued to teach ballet as well as stage multiple works and variations including 2 one act ballets on colleagues and students. Prior to this she founded and directed a ballet school in Johannesburg from 2017-2019, and staged 3 productions.

WHAT DO CLASSES LOOK LIKE? Your first lesson is a FREE LESSON. Classes are an hour duration, the sweet spot between length of attention span, physical endurance span, and building stamina. Classes may consist of ballet technique, body conditioning/ballet gymnastics and flexibility and repertoire, depending on what is most needed. The technique lesson is structured according to the Russian ballet method of Vaganova, and body conditioning classes include professionally developed exercises specifically for dancers. Repertoire includes the learning of variations. Classes are customised to work on what students most need, and therefore weak spots are attended to until they are wiped out. Lessons are conducted online in the convenience of your own home, saving both time and transport costs. All levels of classes are available.

WHAT LEVELS ARE AVAILABLE? All levels! For children from 8 years old to adults

FUN WITH FRIENDS - if you would like to have your own private group classes with only your group of friends, please contact me for more information!

THE PRICE indicated on this ad is per 1 lesson.
All you need is a computer/laptop with a camera, ballet clothes and shoes (or tight fitting comfortable clothes and socks), enough space, a bar (chair/table/etc.) and for body conditioning - an open piece of wall against which you can lean (about 1.2m wide, and as high as you when you stand on your toes and lift up your arms), and most important of all - a passion for dance, a desire to learn, and a smile :)

Having Dané as a ballet teacher has truly been a rewarding experience.
I have learnt so much in a short period of time and she always finds a way to make even the hardest exercises fun and exciting!
I went from falling in all of my turns and exam pieces to learning how to correctly hold my posture from my toes all the way to my ballet bun.
At first i thought online lessons would be too difficult, however even without being there in person Dané has helped me so much. I also don't have to worry about petrol or travel as all my lessons are in my living room!
I 100% recommend her as it has been an amazing experience to be her student.
