About Charlie
I am a Biochemistry graduate, but have enjoyed music since the age of 10. I was grade 8 distinction from the age of 14 and have played with groups such as the National children's brass band and National School Symphony Orchestra. I have helped teach youth players at local music organisations, transferring knowledge from the world class tutors I have had the pleasure of learning from.

I have had some fantastic teachers on my journey, and hope to implement the strategies they used as I teach. The most important thing to me is providing the tools to enable musical creativity to flourish in the most enjoyable way possible. Understanding that the technical component of playing is simply a tool to direct the musician themselves to play what they enjoy is important to understand. As such, I aim to build the technical abilities of a player while building confidence and allowing them to direct musical choice.
