About Claire
I’m a native English speaker with a B.A. in English from the University of Toronto. I’m an Ontario Certified English Language Teacher with an OCELT Certificate of Accreditation from TESL Ontario. I worked for many years as an editor and have strong grammar and writing skills. I have worked as a tutor since 2018 and have provided both ESL tutoring and help with essay writing, reading comprehension and grammar.

I believe in a communicative approach to learning in which students are active participants. I think any ESL class needs to be interactive and should focus on meaningful, real-life skills. I try to provide a relaxing and supportive learning environment in which students feel comfortable asking questions and seeking advice.

Details
Students wishing to cancel a session must provide at least two hours notice. Students will be charged $20 for a lesson if they do not provide sufficient notice of a cancellation. If I need to cancel a session, I will try to provide at least 24 hours notice.
