About Kristina
Hi, I am a language and biology tutor for elementary and adult students.
My background includes these training:
-- Bachelor of Science in BIology (U of Waterloo)
-- M.Ed. in Adult Education (OISE, U of T)
-- Certificate in Horticulture (Niagara College) -- in case you want to talk about plants and gardening, ha ha. I have been a professional gardener for years. Google: Joie Garden Care
-- Level 1 TESL Certificate, Seneca College.
In Canada, I wrote full-time for learning companies, (publishers of textbooks, online games for students) as well as provincial government for 4 years. Also, I taught English at Yeungnam University in South Korea for 3 years to undergraduate students. In Canada, I have taught IELTS prep to adult students.
Currently, I help students with finding learning strategies, using software (eg note taking, summary creation) to be more efficient, improving reading and writing and speaking skills. I can adapt the learning materials to your interests. I prefer to teach online.

For example: write A- grade essays this semester
For lessons, I can create a structured plan over time period that will lead you to be more proficient in speaking and writing. These include:

-- improving grammar, sentence structures
-- greater creativity in language
-- using TV shows, movies, newspaper and magazine articles to learn from others
-- reading books and discussing them (e.g. book club)
-- using exercise books
-- playing games that involve talking
-- reviewing your essays, resume, cover letters and give you feedback on how to improve them.
