Hi, I’m Aarav! As an IB student who recently went through the trenches of AP Chemistry and earned a Score 5, I know exactly how overwhelming this class can feel. I also know that memorizing a textbook won't cut it on exam day. My goal is to strip away the intimidation of chemistry and help students truly understand the foundations of the subject and work towards a 5 on the exam.

1. Teaching Method & Techniques
My approach is built on active engagement and conceptual visualization, not passive lecturing.

Students often get lost plugging numbers into formulas. I ensure we master concepts first and then apply them into actual AP questions.

I use a "I do, we do, you do" framework. I'll demonstrate a complex multi-step problem, we will tackle the next one together to catch weak spots, and then the student takes the wheel to build independent confidence.

Having mastered the exam myself, I explicitly teach students how to read between the lines of tricky AP questions and structure Free Response Questions (FRQs) to maximize point scoring.

2. A Typical 60-Minute Lesson Plan
Every session is highly structured to make the absolute most of our time:

00–10 Mins: The Warm-Up & Review: We review the student's current school topics and address any immediate homework roadblocks or confusing lectures from that week.

10–30 Mins: Conceptual Deep Dive: We break down a core AP unit (e.g., Kinetics, Thermodynamics, or Acid-Base Equilibrium) using visual models, real-world analogies, and interactive whiteboard drawing.

30–55 Mins: High-Yield Practice: We apply the concepts directly to actual, past AP exam questions, focusing heavily on timing, calculation accuracy, and FRQ phrasing.

55–60 Mins: Strategy Wrap-Up: We summarize the key takeaways, isolate areas that need independent review before our next session, and set a clear action plan for the week.

3. What Sets Me Apart
Recent Exam Mastery (Score 5): I took this test recently, meaning I am intimately familiar with the current exam format, the exact phrasing the College Board uses, and the specific traps that cause smart students to lose points.

Award-Winning Coaching Experience: Anyone can get a top score, but not everyone can teach. I am the recipient of a local PTSA Best Coach Award for founding and scaling a science mentoring program for over 120 students. I know how to keep lessons engaging, stay incredibly patient, and keep students motivated.

Peer-to-Peer Communication: Because I am a high school leader and varsity debater, I communicate concepts clearly and relatably. I don't lecture down to students; I work alongside them as a supportive coach who speaks their language.
