About Maria

Hi, I’m Maria! I’m a 4th-year dental student at the University of Sheffield and a Biomedical Sciences graduate from Queen Mary University of London. I achieved a the top percentile in my UCAT.
I have over four years of experience supporting dental applicants through their application process, including personal statements and interview training. During my own application cycle, I received 3 offers, and I’ve since helped students achieve offers from a wide range of universities. This has given me a strong understanding of how application expectations, UCAT performance, and interview styles vary across institutions.

About the lesson

For UCAT tutoring, I focus on developing effective strategies, improving timing, and building confidence across all sections of the exam. I break down each section into clear, manageable techniques and tailor sessions to target individual strengths and weaknesses. We work through practice questions together, refine approaches, and focus on accuracy under timed conditions to maximise scores.

For dental school applications, I provide structured and personalised support at every stage. This includes helping students craft strong personal statements, develop their motivations for dentistry, and prepare for interviews. I offer guidance on both MMI and panel-style interviews, focusing on how to structure answers, communicate clearly, and stand out as a candidate.

My teaching approach is supportive, structured, and tailored to each student. I aim to create a comfortable environment where students feel confident asking questions and developing their answers. Sessions are interactive and include detailed feedback, allowing students to continuously improve and refine their performance. I also provide targeted feedback after sessions to support ongoing progress.

My goal is to help students feel fully prepared, confident, and capable of achieving strong UCAT scores and securing dental school offers.
