About Leah

Currently, I'm a PhD Student at the Bartlett School of Planning, University College London, funded by the ESRC. I have a BA in European Social and Political Studies (EISPS) and an MSc in Urban Studies from the same institution.

I've got a wealth of teaching experience with students from KS2 through to undergraduate level. After completing my BA, I spent a year teaching English as a Foreign Language as a British Council Language Assistant at a Primary School in Berlin, Germany, followed by a period providing tutoring to KS2 students in Tottenham with the 4-22 Foundation. More recently, I've been working as a Postgraduate Teaching Assistant at the UCL Department of Geography.

About the lesson

I've worked with students at a range of levels, from KS2 through to undergraduate. After completing the British Council Language Assistants Programme in Berlin, where I taught English as a Foreign Language, I spent a year tutoring Maths and English at a primary school in Tottenham. More recently, I've been working as a Postgraduate Teaching Assistant and am working towards qualifying as a Teaching Associate with the Higher Education Academy.

I specialise in helping non-native speakers improve their confidence speaking, reading and writing in English, especially in academic settings. But I also offer help with English/Literacy from Year 3, and History, Geography or Sociology from Year 7 up.

My approach is centred around you. I offer tailored and imaginative sessions based around your needs and specific learning style. I like to set goals and objectives ahead of each session in conjunction with my students.
