About Joel

I'm Joel, a Cambridge medic.

The first time I applied to study medicine I was lost, confused and bogged down by all the responsibilities and deadlines for university application. Despite being a diligent student with excellent predicted grades, I was rejected from all of my applications despite making it to interviews.

This was a blessing in disguise gave me a year to reflect on where I went wrong and with the encouragement of supportive individuals I decided to reapply for medicine.
I learnt where I went wrong in my first application, where I should've spent my time more wisely, and a healthier mindset to adopt.

I decided to start tutoring because:
1. I'm a broke student
2. Teaching others will help to reinforce my own knowledge and philosophies surrounding medicine
3. After my own initial rejection, I feel it is important for me to offer support and guidance to those who are in this key stage of their life and try to prevent them from enduring the pain of rejection

About the lesson

I am here to explain the techniques and methods used in the UCAT to consistently score a high grade, as well coaching the mindset and experiences that an aspiring medical student should have/aim to achieve before the interview.

This includes consistent methodology for decision making and abstract reasoning, techniques for fast verbal reasoning analysis and quantitative analysis.

I offer flexible teaching timings based on your needs and requirements and will guide you to get that competitive advantage in the UCAT and that medic bread.
Having applied to for medicine twice, I can certainly say that I am experienced in medicine interviews :)
Or if general advice/decision making for application to medicine, I am your guy.

Qualifications: Scored 3450 in the UCAT (99th Percentile), 3 A* in Biology, Chemistry and Maths, receiving offers from Cambridge, Imperial and King's College London.
