About Ashleigh

I graduated from Downing College, Cambridge in 2018 with a degree in English and the Judy C Petty Prize for artistic achievement. During my time at Cambridge, I was heavily involved in the student theatre scene which led to my being elected as Vice-President of the Footlights in my final year. Aside from my comedy, I was also a member of the original student cast of SiX.
I then went on to train at Mountview academy of Performing Arts and graduated with a distinction in 2020.
I have been a career tutor for the past 5 years.

About the lesson

I do not believe in cookie cutter education, and prefer to build a syllabus around the particular needs and learning style of each individual student. This means the way in which I run my classes varies, and I pride myself on maintaining a flexible, focused approach. I am happy to teach either online or in person and offer 1-2 hour sessions.

* English Tuition

I have been leading English Language and Literature classes catering to a range of exam boards for the past 5 years (including AQA, WJEC, Edexcel and IB) for both GCSE and A-Level, and have helped students meet or exceed their aspirational grades. Having achieved their target grades, many of my students have gone on to study at some of the best schools and universities in the country.
In addition to a high success rate as a tutor, I have also written a number of revision guides on essay technique for set texts on the AQA GCSE syllabus which have received 5* reviews.
I have also led classes with younger students working on English skills from KS2-4.

*TSA and Higher Education

I have coached multiple prospective Oxbridge students through the TSA with a 100% success rate. I also offer support with university personal statements and interview preparation. Aside my personal experience as a Cambridge graduate, I also worked for 2 years as a TA for the Linacre Institute, a charity organisation which aims to equip gifted students from underprivileged northern state schools the skills and confidence to apply for Russell Group universities, which involved leading tutorials and mock interviews. 84% of Linacre students win places at the Russell Group universities.

*Drama and LAMDA

Having achieved a distinction in Performing Arts at Mountview, as well as having worked as a professional actor on London's West End, I can offer tuition in audition-technique and drama/acting skills for a range of needs including drama school auditions, GCSE and A-Level theatre studies and NYT. I have furthermore coached students through LAMDA exams in Public Speaking, Reading for Performance, Speaking Verse and Prose, Shakespeare and Acting, with a 100% pass rate and 93% of my students achieving distinction.
