About Patrick
Hi my name is Patrick,
I have a bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Manitoba. I am currently studying Music at Canadian Mennonite University and I am set to graduate in 2019. I have always been a exceptional student, whether in languages, in the sciences, or in mathematics. I am an artist and have a strong appreciation of poetry and the written word in general. I am bilingual and attended a francophone high school.
I have worked in elementary and high schools as an educational assistant. I have worked with children diagnosed with learning and developmental disabilities. I have taught voice, piano and guitar as a one on one instructor. I enjoy working with children and find such work fulfilling. I love sharing knowledge and telling stories that help others appreciate a particular situation or idea.

I believe that to be successful, sessions need to hold a level of structure. However structure will be subject to change depending on the needs of the child or individual. Variety is important to keep things interesting however I like to involve variety in a structured way as well. Nevertheless, I appreciate some flexibility to promote a natural flow of things.
I believe that goal setting is an important part of the learning process. Establishing them, reinforcing them and revisiting them is important for clarity and a sense of purpose and direction. It is also good for the whole process to be more fulfilling.
