About Luke
I am a recent graduate of the University of Huddersfield where I obtained a first-class BMus (Hons) music degree. I began my musical journey at the age of 8 where I started playing the trumpet as part of a wider opportunities scheme. Since then, I have had the pleasure of studying music with some prestigious teachers and lecturers at the Royal Birmingham Junior Conservatoire and the University of Huddersfield. During my studies at university, I have gained knowledge in Musicology, Music Analysis, Music Psychology, Orchestration, Music Technology, and Composition, alongside many other areas. During my time at university, I have had the pleasure of performing with the University’s Brass band in which we have gained numerous awards from contests such as UniBrass and the Cory band Online Contest. Outside of my studies, I play in a local brass band who have a rich calendar of concerts and contests. I have been delivering online tuition since April 2020 when the majority of tuition moved to virtual delivery. I am highly experienced at delivering virtual sessions with high levels of success being achieved from these.

I base all of my classes on the individual needs and goals of the student. I understand that every student learns differently and I believe that each student should have a personalised approach to learning. With this in mind I plan and deliver all of my sessions tailored to the student's learning style and ability. I deliver online lessons for a variety of music-related fields including upper brass lessons, music theory and music reading.
