About Luke
While new to superprof, I have tutored students before in person and online in both computer science topics and some math as well. I was a TA for nearly 2 years at the University of Michigan helping teach the 400 level Video Game Devlopment course and did some assorted private tutoring on the side.
As far as professional work goes, I've been working in the industry full time since about 6 months before I graduated from undergrad. I currently work as a backend cloud engineer, but have done several assorted contracting and full stack positions in the past as well totaling 3+ years of full time experience. I also offer career coaching in this area for people just getting into the industry and looking to land that first real computer science based role.
I'm someone that loves coaching and training offline as well. Outside of my full time role, I'm also a wrestling coach for the local highschool and train jiu jitsu and muay thai plus olympic weightlifting!

I'm flexible to structure lessons however the student works best!
I believe that the best way to learn computer science concepts and skills is by trying them out yourself. With that in mind, I like to work with students on whatever projects or assignments they may be currently assigned or help them find a project to start themselves. For most students, having the chance to build something that they can see work not only helps with focus but with information retention as well.
Of course, if a student prefers a more typical lecture format I'm happy to cater to their preferences and help them learn in the best way for them.
