- Completed a Bachelor's of Commerce Degree from the University of Ottawa with a Certificate in Economics from Tilburg University
- Worked as a Teacher's Assistant at the University of Ottawa and Queen's University
- Attending St. Lawrence College to become a Wind Turbine Technician
- 5+ years of online and in-person tutoring experience
- Industry Experience in Banking and Economics Consulting Work

Personally,
- I love to travel and my personal favourite countries include Austria, Thailand, Guatemala and of course Canada. I have lived in 5 provinces including some of the most iconic destinations: Jasper, Kingston, Ottawa, Halifax and Victoria (currently).
- Always playing basketball and going for evening runs
- Enjoying the rich cultural, music and art scene of this beautiful country
- I am so grateful to be enriched by the lives of my friends, family as well as those I get to teach on this platform.

About the lesson

I like to apply finance and accounting concepts exactly the way I prefer taught - simple English, real-world examples, illustrations and diagrams, and with an attempt to make it exciting and memorable. Finance is far more than Income Statements, Iron Condors, and Sharpe Ratios. Let's take a step back and cover those basics and then expand from there! I am passionate about investing, personal finance and empowering people to build a better future and I greatly look forward to working with you.

When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?
Probably from watching Jordan Belfort and the Wolf of Wall Street, I became quite interested in the fascinating and exciting side of the stock market and how money dominates the world. I have continued to study finance and economics because I am very curious about how the world functions and I am continuously amused to learn more about the underlying dynamics - the psychology, the madness, and the efficiencies that have created our Modern World.
What makes you passionate about your subject?
I am passionate about learning how history has developed to this point in our understanding of the philosophy and economics of the world, from Adam Smith to John Maynard Keynes and through to Milton Friedman and beyond. We have gained a lot of insights about the world yet the same problems keep recurring and we continuously tinker between the right mix of monetary and fiscal policy, regulation and taxation. Along the way, many crises have developed and there has been a tremendous amount to learn from. Looking ahead, I am excited to see how cryptocurrencies may impact global finance and whether they will disrupt the industry in meaningful ways.
What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?
I genuinely enjoy helping people from the moment where they have an interest but some confusion through to that "aha!" moment where it begins to all make sense. My tutoring style continuously evolves from the feedback I get from students and learning about what teaching style works and I am passionate about learning and growing so I can provide a best-in-class experience for you to do well in your studies and enjoy what you're learning.
I believe tutoring should be a two-way conversation and I want to keep you engaged and interested in the topic being discussed; this comes from mutual trust, understanding, and appreciation for one another.
Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.
I have since returned to college and I am studying to become a Wind Turbine Technician. During my present studies, our program coordinator has become a role model because he is an exceptionally patient and understanding teacher, knows his material well, and is passionate about supporting our learning. Not only did he support my academic trip to Ireland and support the creation of a school club, "The Wind Breakers", Ryan has gone above and beyond to help in my studies prior to exams and is constantly available to help me through any difficult material.
What are your keys to success?
My keys to success are empathy, patience, understanding and enthusiasm.
