About Adam
I am currently a second-year student at the University of the Witwatersrand, studying a BA(General) in International Relations, German, and Portuguese. I matriculated with 7 distinctions and I decided to transfer my knowledge to all others who may need it. With almost a year's worth of previous experience in tutoring, I have equipped myself with the necessary skills to engage thoroughly with my students and gear them for academic success. For me, tutoring does not just entail instruction, yet requires a connection with a student to understand and work on challenges fully. I am a dedicated student who enjoys teaching others through my sense of compassion, patience, and empathy. I believe that learning should not be a daunting task, yet a way to spark curiosity and reinforce confidence.

Teaching and learning are not concrete concepts, and I realise that every student has a unique method in which they conduct their learning. I, thus, strive to engage students through a flexible learning style that suits them and allows them to excel in a manner with which they are comfortable.
With this flexible approach, I also try to encourage students to approach me with what they feel like is challenging, rather than a top-down approach, where I would dictate the contents of the lesson.
The lessons are crafted to be a safe-space for a student, where there is always time for further questions, explanations and examples. It is a judgement-free zone, where students can grasp the concepts of Maths Literacy!
