About Lucy

Hi, I’m Lucy, I’ve just finished my first year of University after sitting my A-Levels in Politics, Maths, Latin and Classical Greek (achieving 4 A*s), and I’m looking to share my knowledge and love of those subjects with other students through tutoring. I sat both Latin and Greek GCSE, achieving 9s in both subjects. I have a DBS check and experience tutoring GCSE students at my school, and would like to support GCSE and A-Level Latin and Classical Greek students in both language and literature, as well as providing help with exam technique, revision strategies, and essay-writing advice. I hope that I can provide an enjoyable and friendly learning experience!

About the lesson

Lessons are usually 45 minutes - 1 hour, and are very student-driven, tailored around exactly what the student wants to focus most on. I can cover both language and literature sides of the course, and the content of the lessons can vary based on what the student would find most useful and productive. As a fellow student, I know that some parts of Latin and Greek can be frustrating at times, but feel that my recent experience of learning these subjects and sitting the exams means that I can also share methods that I found helpful to study these areas.

Perfect! A superb communicator with my 14 year old daughter studying for GCSE Latin. Lucy wanted to know what she needed help with, how she worked. She had clearly prepared a lot in advance of the lesson, whilst also adapting during the course of the lesson to my daughter's needs and questions. We have booked for further lessons as she can clearly add much value. Lucy is a real find.
