About Ronald

I have taught violin for 34 years and I am a certified Suzuki instructor for Violin in books 1 to 10, viola books 1 to 4 and piano books 1 to 2. I graduated from the Conservatory of Trujillo and taught as a professor at the Conservatory of Trujillo and the University of Cesar Vallejo of Trujillo. I played 1st violin in the Symphonic Orchestra of Trujillo.

In addition to teaching and playing, in 2010 I founded the Suzuki Music School in Trujillo, Peru. I taught there for 10 years. During 2 of those years, I also taught students from grades 1-12 at the Talents Alternate School in Peru. I have a master's degree and a doctor's degree in education.

For the past 4 years, I have given lessons in Palo Alto, CA in violin, piano and violoncello. I continue to perform violin with the Palo Alto Philharmonic orchestra.

About the lesson

I infuse my lessons with a passion for music. I like to inspire my students to not only play their instrument, but to enjoy music and to develop a passion of their own. My classes are motivational and instructive, adjusting to the pace and needs of the student. I am a teacher that is patient and shows care because I believe that any student can learn to play music.

I have taught students as young as 2 years and as old as 65. I enjoy including the history of music in my lessons. I believe that the Suzuki method is genius. I have a working knowledge of violins since I rent, maintain and repair violins myself. I use complementary literature and include popular, contemporary music to help motivate students.

Perfect! We’ve had a truly wonderful experience with Dr. Ronald for our two children, who are learning piano and violin respectively.
