About Sean
I am a Violin tutor with over 5 years of experience and hold a Bachelor of Music in Orchestral Studies with a focus on Violin. My teaching blends traditional technique with modern technology to help students refine their playing. I use tools like slow-down apps, DAWs, MIDI notation, and video feedback to break down pieces, analyze performance, and track progress. These tools make practice more precise and engaging. I am passionate about teaching diverse genres, including Jazz Violin, Rock Strings, and Indie Folk. Students learn to explore both stylistic nuances and technical challenges within these styles. Improvisation is a key part of my lessons. I create custom backing tracks that allow learners to experiment, compose, and develop their musical voice confidently. I work closely with each student to tailor lessons to their goals, whether improving technique, expanding repertoire, or enhancing stage presence. Lessons combine structured exercises, creative exploration, and recording analysis, making learning both effective and enjoyable. I encourage learners to explore their musical voice and connect emotionally with the pieces they play. This helps them convey meaning and feeling through music.
I provide structured guidance while allowing space for creativity and personal interpretation. This balance builds both technical mastery and artistic growth.
I am especially effective at supporting students passionate about performance, whether in theatre, worship, or solo recitals. I help them refine skills while boosting stage presence and confidence.
