About Jacqueline
Jacqueline Pabst has been playing the violin for 20 of her 26 years of age and teaching for 10 years. She was trained using the popular Suzuki Method followed by advanced classical repertoire including Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, Bruch, Paganini and more.
Jacqueline has always maintained a love for orchestral music and played for multiple years with The Kadima Philharmonic, The Colburn Chamber Orchestra, The Colburn String Ensemble, The YMF Debut Orchestra and The American Youth Symphony. While she was with the American Youth Symphony she was able to meet and play with famous film composers Alan Silvestri (The Parent Trap, Back to the Future) and David Newman (The Nutty Professor, Scooby Too), and she, along with the rest of the orchestra, received commendation letters from key members of congress and the government including Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Diane Feinstein and more.
Jacqueline studied extensively at the Colburn School of Music all through her middle and high school years, where she studied privately and played with orchestras and chamber groups. It was during this time that Jacqueline began learning how to teach violin under the supervision of her private instructor. She taught several young students while in high school, and continued teaching them when she graduated. She then went on to UCLA where she studied both violin and international affairs and continued teaching her students. She also participated in a sorority, played violin for the drama department and studied French.
Jacqueline won first place in the Southwest Youth Music Festival competition two years in a row, and took first place in the Music Teacher’s Association of California (MTAC) competition. She also won commendations of excellence for all four years that she participated in JCM (Junior Chamber Music), where she was able to study with JCM’s fantastic coaches including Martin Chalifour, Aimee Kreston, Henry Gronnier and more.
While Jacqueline was raised on a strict diet of classical music, she now enjoys playing all genres, especially pop, rock and jazz. She has played in various clubs around LA, most recently appearing with the Jake Davis Band at the Teregram Ballroom for a sold out audience of 600. A few weeks after that show she performed with one of her favorite jazz groups, Groove Sauce, and soul vocalist Ryan Sallis to a sold out crowd at Vitello’s Jazz Club in Studio City.

Hello future students! I've been playing violin for 20 of my 25 years of age and teaching for 8 years. I believe that the most important part of learning the violin is having fun and building a passion for music.
In my lessons we will focus on proper violin technique, music theory and most importantly (and fun!) practical application. In practical application, the student chooses what he/she would like to work on, whether it be Mozart or The Chainsmokers or the Moana score, and we learn it together!
I am also proficient in music production/engineering which means that my students can professionally record themselves in my home studio.
