About Lou
I am a passionate and dedicated violin tutor with 9 years of teaching experience, working with high school students, college learners, and adults, and I have successfully taught around 300 students across different skill levels.
My teaching philosophy is based on patience, clear communication, and steady progress, as I strongly believe that every student can learn violin with the right guidance and support. I focus on building strong fundamentals such as posture, bow control, finger placement, and tone quality, which are essential for long-term success in music.
I make sure to explain every concept in a simple and easy way so students can understand and apply it confidently during practice. My lessons include a mix of exercises, scales, and songs to keep learning both structured and enjoyable. One of my key achievements is helping students grow from beginners to confident players who can perform comfortably.
I also guide students in developing regular practice habits and overcoming stage fear. My goal is to create a positive, supportive, and motivating learning environment where students feel confident, enjoy the process, and continue improving their violin skills.

I teach violin with a focus on communication, adaptability, and hands-on learning. Each student learns differently, so I adjust my teaching methods to suit their preferred style, whether visual, auditory, or kinesthetic. Lessons cover posture, bowing, fingering, intonation, tone quality, and expressive playing.
I include real-life examples such as performing simple pieces, preparing for recitals, and understanding how music conveys emotion to make learning practical. I also teach supporting subjects like music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, sight-reading, and basic piano skills to develop well-rounded musical knowledge.
My goal is to make learning violin enjoyable, structured, and confidence-building, helping students progress steadily and stay motivated.
