About Karine

With over 15 years of experience as a voice and piano teacher, accompanist, and musical director, I am a passionate and dedicated music educator. I recently moved to Toronto, ON from Hanover, ON where I previously managed a full studio of students ranging from ages 5 to adult. My teaching expertise spans various genres, including musical theatre, contemporary, folk, country, and classical. Having directed large community choirs and musicals, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a commitment to nurturing musical talent.

About the lesson

Karine has a unique ability to hear exactly what is going on in your voice and can pinpoint and transform your voice quickly and effectively using a variety of effective techniques. Fun and engaging! Lessons start with warm-ups and use a number of unique techniques and tools to create quick shifts while learning repertoire that you love and enjoy. Lessons are for children and adults. She has a love of teenagers and has worked with many over the years teaching privately at several high schools. She has coached many students preparing for their school's musicals or those doing community theatre. She has a variety of tools in her teaching tool belt (including Classical training and CCM) since she was an accompanist for so many voice teachers in university and just kept adding to her knowledge as she watched other teachers solving complicated vocal issues. She is able to work with male and female voices equally and adapt to each unique voice. She has a thorough knowledge of psychology and as an empowerment and relationship coach, she uses her skills in NLP and inner transformation to create confidence in her students. It's not just a singing lesson. It's a full transformative experience. Music is the language of the soul and her students thrive under her coaching both vocally and personally. Another advantage to working with Karine is that she is able to accompany you in real time while coaching you. She is a proficient sight reader and can play all genres of music and uses Musicnotes Digital music to easily transpose any song to fit your range.
