About Ciara

Hi there! I’m Ciara — a passionate English and Speech & Drama teacher, a published playwright, and someone who genuinely loves helping students find their voice. From a young age, I was drawn to the power of words — how they can move us, challenge us, and help us express who we are. That love led me to study Theatre and Drama at the Cork School of Music, and later to work as a teacher, writer, and speaker. But more than anything, it led me to the classroom — where I get to help others discover that same confidence and excitement in English and Drama. I know these subjects can sometimes feel overwhelming — full of pressure, essays, exams, or standing up to speak in front of a group. But I believe that with the right support and encouragement, they can become two of the most fulfilling and empowering parts of your education. In my lessons, we focus not just on “getting through the exam,” but on connecting with the material — understanding characters, crafting ideas, using your voice, and thinking critically. I work with each student individually, helping them build confidence, find their own strengths, and even enjoy the process of learning. Whether you’re preparing for your Junior or Leaving Cert, aiming to improve your public speaking, or simply hoping to feel more confident in yourself, I’m here to help. Teaching isn’t just something I do — it’s something I love, and I’m excited to share that with you. Let’s work together to make English, Drama, Debate and Public Speaking not just subjects you study — but subjects you truly relate to, enjoy, and grow through.

About the lesson

Passionate public speaker, speech and drama coach, and published playwright with over 6 years’ experience helping students become confident communicators and expressive performers. Based in Cork, I offer personalised lessons in speech, drama, English language, and debating, with a strong focus on building clarity, creativity, and confidence.

A graduate of the Cork School of Music with a BA in Theatre & Drama Studies, I blend academic rigour with creative flair. My experience includes preparing students for drama exams, written performance tasks, and competitive public speaking events. As a former debating champion and scriptwriter, I help students not just perform — but think critically, write powerfully, and speak persuasively.
